Designing a SAPUI5 Web Portal for the French Ministry of Justice HR Apps
The human resources information system of the French Ministère de la Justice, named Harmonie, is a unique tool built upon the SAP module HCM. This system was designed to manage the 90,000 agents working for the Ministry: a challenge when public sector and the various private contractors all require different rules.
The Ministry used to rely on a Web Dynpro portal, but by 2018 it was outdated. Thus, a vast digital transformation project was launched to modernize their IT system, which in particular meant replacing their current HR portal with something future-proof, intuitive and multi-device.
After some research, Neptune DX Platform appeared as the best solution to satisfy requirements. With Neptune, the Ministry now had the tools to build a modern web portal based on SAPUI5, and was able to quickly develop Fiori applications

Improving Waste Collection for a Modern World
With more than 350 waste trucks handling more than 5,000 containers and bins every day, good and effective tools for the drivers are crucial. One of these tools is the driver app. This is the tool used for sending orders to the trucks, guiding the drivers through the completion of the missions and collecting data for analysis and customer invoicing. Our experience is that a well-designed solution helps the drivers work more efficient, makes the customer more satisfied and improves the data quality sent back to the backend system. This again makes it possible to improve the backend processes and gives us nice possibilities to run analyses.
In 2019 we found that it was time to replace the existing driver app. We looked at several vendors and solutions and, in the end, we went for Neptune and Planet 9. Why, and how the development project ended, I will tell more about in the Neptune summit.

POSBE: Point of Sales by EINR! A Cloud POS Made for Enterprises
Where should your master data, your single view, or one trusted representation of data, reside? And how to update and get that master data to where it’s needed quickly? In our view, this is the single biggest advantage of a cloud architected POS.
POS has traditionally relied on its own siloed data that’s disconnected from the web and other channels. If you take that on-premise path, with different data views, you will always be playing catch-up and have very little opportunity to deliver truly cross-channel consistency.
Clearly we believe there needs to be a master data view, whether it resides in the existing ERP system, or a specific Master Data Management hub, depends on each retailer. But replicating data locally for the POS, or trying to make the POS a master data store invites unnecessary complexity.
What matters more is the ability to get this data to where it’s valuable in a ‘publish and subscribe’ approach. With the cloud this is incredibly simple to achieve using APIs and it means your business can take real-time decisions.

How the Cloud Enables End-toEnd Workflow Visibility
The cloud has transformed so many aspects of technology and business, but most enterprises are still just scratching the surface of utilizing its potential. In this session, we’ll discuss how capturing data like labels, barcodes, tags, beacons, and location can be transformed into real-time visibility by wrapping those events with business context including the Who, What, When, Where, and Why. And finally, we’ll talk about how we can drive tangible action in the workflow with the How.

How COOP Norway Automated & Streamlined Instore Processes to Improve Stock Accuracy, Store Efficiency & Profit
During this session Stein and Nicolay will review how COOP automated and streamlined the in-store ordering process in 1250 retail stores.
COOP invited S5 Consulting to explore how they could automize their order and forecasting. The solution should be built and continuously developed as a functional prototype, automated and interact with the core system and business logic of COOP. This task was rather complex, and S5 Consulting needed to make the golden oldies of legacy systems play nice with the inexperienced teens of service innovation and rapid development.
S5 Consulting enabled COOP to develop one centralized platform to manage all order activity and the main results will be highlighted in the presentation.
This design driven Fiori development project finished in 19 months and S5 Consulting with their specialized knowledge of the retail industry and logistics were a major contributor to the success achieved.

Visibility and Actionable Insights
During this session, Ian Davies, from the Solutions Team at Zebra Technologies, is going to talk about the technology changes affecting how organizations use and work with their ruggedized or “edge devices”. This technology change has parallels to the SAP ERP boom of the ’90s, which drove organizations to re-think how they structure parts of their business and to encourage efficient processes, rather than working in solos with limited communication. This technology re-fresh is providing a huge opportunity for technology-driven change in an area which has been under invested in for many years. Zebra talks about working at the performance edge – and it provides a service management platform called “Visibility IQ Foresight” which builds on the capabilities of an MDM to provide a collaborative business application for us by professionals in: information systems, operations, supply chain and procurement. The service can be “consumed” via a management portal and or transformed data can be published via a series of API’s. Zebra has spent thousands of hours of development time looking at how operational staff work with information and can best be served by a business application focused on their needs.
speaker bio
Ian works on the Software & Solutions Team at Zebra technologies, his role is focused on the Visibility IQ Foresight application and its successful adoption and use by Zebra’s customer and partners.
He’s been with Zebra since 2016 and works across EMEA. Before joining Zebra his background was in managed services and business applications – including working for over twenty with and for Oracle and then SAP. Before starting in the IS industry he worked in logistics. He lives in Berkshire and has a degree in Information Systems and an MBA.
